What your character is going to be (ie. student, citizen--if student, what high school year/college status): A citizen, will probably try and become a teacher later
IN-DEPTH Background/personality info on your character, as well as any character development that occurs during the series (Include any changes to fit into the Avoria world~): Hitomi is amongst one of the most innocent characters of Loveless, and a major indicator of such innocence is probably her ears. Normally, by her age (she is 23) people have already had sex and lost their ears, and this fact is a embarrassment for Hitomi, mostly because some people (Soubi and Zero) make fun of her for having them. Even her fellow teachers don't believe in her and her ability as a teacher to some extent, often wondering if it was okay to have a strange child like Ritsuka placed in her class. However, as the series continues, she slowly gains confidence in herself and in the choices she makes.
Hitomi has proven to be very caring and mother-like in the series and in the manga. She worries about her students a lot, especially Ritsuka, who she befriends. Hitomi even suspected that Ritsuka may possibly be abused by his own parents. She had even been willing to make a House Call to Ritsuka's home to make sure that her theory was right, but the encounter between Ritsuka's mother and her didn't happen because of the Zero pair Natsuo and Youji, who had tried to take her ears. She is saved just in time by Soubi, Ritsuka's fighter, mocking her while doing so. He gets his hand nailed through by Zero, and Hitomi feels directly responsible for the wound.
For some reason, Hitomi likes Soubi, even though he makes fun of her. She has even brooded and burst into tears over him, despite the obvious enjoyment he gets from tormenting her. But it is quite possible that Soubi's dislike of Hitomi may stem from the fact that his own teacher, Ritsu, did horrible things to him when under his wing. Hitomi does not know of this, and thus she believes that Soubi hates her, to the point that she has a semi-nervous breakdown when she forces herself to call him for Ritsuka's well-being. On the phone they talk about Ritsuka and his mother, and Hitomi's suspicions are proven correct. In his own way, Soubi challenges Hitomi to confront Ritsuka's mother about it, which she accepts and says she will do. These words cause a peace between Soubi and Hitomi, with Soubi saying to Hitomi, 'I think I like teachers a little bit now' or something along those lines.
Overall, Hitomi is a very innocent, kind, caring, and tad bit naive individual, who will do everything she can to protect her students and those she loves.
